Since 2018, RE/MAX Canada has partnered with Treat Accessibly to help drive household awareness to make trick-or-treating accessible and inclusive for children with disabilities by removing barriers that can make getting candy difficult such as staircases, steep or long driveways, strobe lights or loud noises, crowded front entrances, narrow pathways, and more.

Order your FREE Accessible Trick or Treating lawn signs today (only pay for shipping) to hand out to your clients and contacts. When a homeowner puts the sign on their lawn, they are committed to making their property accessible to everyBODY on Halloween.

HOW TO ORDER TREAT ACCESSIBLY SIGNS

If you or your office would like to order lawn signs and be part of this movement, please use the link below to order at no cost (except for shipping).

Consumers will also have the opportunity to pick up their lawn signs at Pumpkins after Dark events which will take place throughout Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa and Toronto. RE/MAX still remains the primary distributor of Treat Accessibly lawn signs and consumers will still be encouraged through advertising to visit www.treataccessibly.com, where they will be invited to contact a RE/MAX office/agent to secure their free lawn signs.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO SEE

A Treat Accessibly ad campaign will roll out across RE/MAX Canada social channels this October to help build awareness for the movement and encourage consumers to reach out to their local RE/MAX agent or office for their lawn sign.

Treat Accessibly will also be promoted on every box of Kinder Eggs sold in the month of October across Canada, helping further solidify the movement and drive consumers to RE/MAX agents and offices to secure their lawn sign.

JOIN THE MOVEMENT

In recent years, Treat Accessibly Halloween Villages were created, where communities come together to offer an accessible, curb-side trick-or-treating experience for children with disabilities and their families to enjoy. In 2023, there will be 9 cities across Canada hosting Halloween Villages, including:
  • October 14: Halifax, NS; Ottawa, ON
  • October 15: Toronto, ON; Oakville, ON; Hamilton, ON
  • October 21: Edmonton, AB; St. Albert, AB; Calgary, AB
  • October 22: Surrey, BC

Every year, RE/MAX agents and offices have the unique opportunity to volunteer at their local Treat Accessibly Halloween Village and can set up a RE/MAX branded zone. This is a great opportunity to get in front of your community and show that you care about giving back. You can also use these events as an opportunity to touch base with your clients and prospects by inviting them to attend and register for their local Halloween Village here.

HOW TO USE TREAT ACCESSIBLY SIGNS TO BUILD CLIENT RELATIONSHIPS

  1. On your own lawn! Place this sign on your own lawn and commit to handing out candy on Halloween from the bottom of your stairs or your garage. Share what you’re doing on social media to show your network that you stand for inclusivity.
  2. Hand deliver or mail the sign to your existing clients requesting that they place the sign on their own lawns to participate in the movement. Ask them to tag you on social when they’ve set up their sign!
  3. Share with prospective clients. Use this sign to network with new clients. We know that over 80% of consumers would rather purchase from a brand that stands up for social causes. By showing them that you care and are trying to make a difference in the community, you could be top of mind for their next real estate transaction.
  4. Boost your social media presence and create an emotional connection. Create Facebook or Instagram posts leading up to Halloween with the sign. Dress up in costume, send a message of inclusivity, and have fun!
  5. Increase office morale. Create a challenge within your office or team space – the team member with the most clients using this sign wins!
