Since 2018, RE/MAX Canada has partnered with Treat Accessibly to promote inclusive trick-or-treating for children with disabilities by removing barriers like staircases, steep driveways, loud noises, and bright lights.

Order your FREE Accessible Trick-or-Treating lawn signs today (just pay for shipping) to share with clients and people in your community. When a homeowner puts the sign on their lawn, they are committed to making their property accessible to everyBODY on Halloween.

Order Treat Accessibly Signs

Treat Accessibly lawn signs are available at 716 PetValu locations across Canada this year, however RE/MAX agents remain the primary distributors. We encourage you to promote yourself as a distributor through social media, door-to-door efforts, or partnerships with community events and sports teams, etc.

Additionally, through Treat Accessibly advertising, consumers are encouraged to visit treataccessibly.com where they can connect with a RE/MAX office or agent to secure a free lawn sign. If you would like to order lawn signs and be part of this movement, please use the link below to order at no cost (except for shipping).

Get Involved: Halloween Villages

Treat Accessibly Halloween Villages offer accessible curbside trick-or-treating for children with disabilities and their families. The program grew again in 2023, with 200,000 homes participating on Halloween, and more than 15,000 kids and parents experiencing Treat Villages in nine Canadian cities.

Each year, RE/MAX agents and offices can volunteer at these Halloween Villages and set up a RE/MAX branded zone, showcasing their commitment to their community. Invite clients and your network to join by registering here.

In 2024, there will be nine cities across Canada hosting Halloween Villages, including:

  • Toronto and Hamilton: Saturday, September 28
  • Halifax: Sunday, September 29
  • Ottawa: Saturday, October 5
  • Lorraine: Sunday, October 6
  • Calgary: Saturday, October 19
  • Edmonton and St. Albert: Sunday, October 20
  • Surrey: Saturday, October 26

What You Can Expect to See on Social

This October, a Treat Accessibly ad campaign will be running on Instagram and Facebook to raise awareness and encourage consumers to contact their local RE/MAX agent for lawn signs. Additionally, every Kinder Egg sold in Canada during October will feature Treat Accessibly, promoting the movement and directing consumers to RE/MAX agents for their signs.

How to Use Treat Accessibly Signs to Build Client Relationships

  • On your own lawn! Place this sign on your own lawn and commit to handing out candy on Halloween from the bottom of your stairs or your garage. Share what you’re doing on social media to show your network that you stand for inclusivity.
  • Hand deliver or mail the sign to your existing clients requesting that they place the sign on their own lawns to participate in the movement. Ask them to tag you on social when they’ve set up their sign!
  • Share with prospective clients. Use this sign to network with new clients. We know that over 80% of consumers would rather purchase from a brand that stands up for social causes. By showing them that you care and are trying to make a difference in the community, you could be top of mind for their next real estate transaction.
  • Boost your social media presence and create an emotional connection. Create Facebook or Instagram posts leading up to Halloween with the sign. Dress up in costume, send a message of inclusivity, and have fun!
  • Increase office morale. Create a challenge within your office or team space – the team member with the most clients using this sign wins!
