Each year, REMAX Vision Realty in Drayton Valley, Alberta, helps ensure that children and their families across Western Canada have access to world-class pediatric care through the Stollery Children’s Hospital.
Supporting the cause is a shared commitment across the brokerage. Every agent at REMAX Vision Realty participates in the REMAX Miracle Home Program, donating a portion of the proceeds from property sales to the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation.
Last year, John and Rachelle Dempster, Broker/Owners of REMAX Vision Realty, made an incredible impact through their annual Stollery Charity Golf Tournament, raising $52,000 in support of the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation. This summer, they continued that momentum, raising an additional $53,000, bringing their remarkable two-year fundraising total to $105,000 in support of the Stollery’s mission to provide exceptional care to children and their families.
“When we give back, we do so with purpose, knowing that every contribution helps provide care, hope, and answers to families who need them most,” says Rachelle Dempster.
John and Rachelle have their own personal connection to the cause. In October 2022, their granddaughter Amadea was born with an extremely rare medical condition that took her life 20 months later. During their time at the Stollery, the family experienced firsthand the importance of specialized pediatric care, advanced research, and compassionate medical teams.
Although Amadea’s life was far too short, she continues to make a lasting impact. In her honour, Amadea’s parents, Braeden and Rachel Dempster, created a soy wax candle company named Simply Canadian Candle Company as a way to keep her story and spirit alive. Proceeds from every item purchased are donated to the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation.
“Her journey changed us,” says John Dempster. “It deepened our understanding of how critical specialized pediatric care is and strengthened our commitment to supporting the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation in meaningful ways.”
The support is also especially meaningful for the brokerage, given that Ryder, a Children’s Miracle Network Champion Child for the Stollery, is a fellow Drayton Valley resident. At just 10 days old, Ryder was rushed to the Stollery Children’s Hospital, where they discovered a life-threatening mass in his stomach. Thanks to the advanced technology and expert care at the Stollery, Ryder made a full recovery and now thrives as a healthy teen. His story is a powerful reminder of the real difference the brokerage is making in the community they serve.
