Has your Facebook page or Instagram account been deactivated? RE/MAX affiliates have been experiencing deactivations of their Facebook pages and Instagram accounts due to alleged violations of various policies, including Meta’s “impersonation policy” and other community guidelines. We continue to work with Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, on solutions.
Reactivation Assistance
If your Facebook page or Instagram account has been deactivated and you need help reactivating it, please reach out to them directly:
- Contact Facebook: facebook.com/business/help/support.
- Contact Instagram: instagram.com.
In addition, it may be useful to provide Facebook or Instagram with evidence of your right to use the RE/MAX trademarks on your social media account. You may complete this form if you would like to receive a letter from RE/MAX, LLC confirming your right to use the RE/MAX trademarks on social media. You can then submit this letter to Facebook/Instagram as part of your request to have your page or account restored. Please be advised that this letter does not guarantee your page or account will be reactivated but it has been effective for some RE/MAX affiliates experiencing the same issue. Once you have completed the form, you can expect to receive the letter in 1-2 business days via email.
Tips to Avoid Page/Account Deactivation
- Use a business page instead of your personal page to market your business. Learn more about using a business page here.
- Clearly identify yourself as a RE/MAX agent or broker/owner in your page name, bio section or profile photo.
- Add your office name and location in your page name (ex. “RE/MAX Professionals – Denver”) and use a professional photo or the official RE/MAX logo in your profile image. (Official RE/MAX logos may be found in the Marketing Portal on MAX/Center).
- Set up two-factor authentication to help avoid future deactivations of your page and Facebook Business Manager. Learn more about two-factor authentication here. You can also require two-factor authentication as a Business Manager here.
While we cannot guarantee that these steps will lead to a permanent solution for reactivation or prevent deactivation moving forward, we hope they will help avoid inconveniences in the future. If your page is deactivated again after following these steps, the same process may be followed.
